If a party is unhappy with the decision of the trial court, he/she has the option of appealing the trial court’s decision.  The trial court’s decision is then reviewed by an independent panel of judges.  However, the appeal process is very time sensitive.  If parties do not act promptly, they may waive their right to appeal.  Additionally, briefs and other documents submitted to the appellate court are governed by strict rules.

Parties who represent themselves are held to the same standards as those who are represented by an attorney.  Therefore, if you are interested in pursuing an appeal or are unsure as to whether you should pursue an appeal, please contact the Law Offices of Mary Ann Weems to discuss your options.
